The subject matter in the classroom would include, but is not limited to the following:
- The ride and the risk (driving is serious)
- Temporary disabilities (ex. lack of sleep/ high stress)
- Dangers of alcohol and other drugs.
- Peer pressure (making responsible decisions)
- The danger of intersections (details on what to look for)
- Distracted driving (danger of texting)
- Highway driving
- Negotiating traffic circles
- Driving in adverse conditions
Learner centered activities include:
- The Vision Challenge ( testing peripheral, useful & central vision)
- Reaction test ( in relation to distance traveled)
- Interactive scenarios ( video based)
- The " Drunk Goggles"
- Collision scenarios and how to prevent (small group activity)
- Multi-Task challenge (texting & driving)
- Visitation of a police officer (Q&A)
